Excess

Launched on the 27th August 2011, Excess is the newest addition to the Sinai Blues fleet of boats. At 10.5m long and with a top speed of 55 knots, Excess is one of the fastest vessels in the Red Sea. It is fitted with every conceivable navigation and communication system possible greatly easing the range and choice of dive sites. Surface supervision and diver support is also greatly enhanced with the latest onboard technology.

This includes underwater cameras attached to the hull of Excess to allow current checks, diver observation and site inspections prior to the dive. See the adjacent picture of a recent trip to the SS Thistlegorm shipwreck where Kelvin Deacon is holding the boat in position while observing diver’s bubbles rising from a depth of 20m over the bow…all in high quality colour!

Excess takes up to 14 divers and has a combined 600 Horse Power over twin Mercury 300 HP engines. With large fuel capacity tanks together with comfortable and practical seating and storage areas, Excess is capable of reaching the outer areas of the Northern Red Sea. This allows Sinai Blues to offer its guests the chance to visit Abu Nuhas and Tawilla Island for dives on the Carnatic, Ghiannis D and Rosalie Moller ship wrecks…in just a day.
