RIB Diving at the Sinai Blues

Sinai Blues has developed the highly popular activity of RIB diving. A RIB (rigid inflatable hull) is a small boat with a hard bottom and inflatable sides. In fact this short description doesn’t do them justice because many of our ribs are large, comfortable, fast and well-equipped to handle small groups of divers in a variety of different weather conditions. Tornado is the most popular and at 7.5 meters long with two new Mercury 250 engines is one of the fastest boats in the Northern Red Sea, with a top speed of 50+knots. It’s even quicker than the Rescue Service. Our new boat, Excess, is a ten meter RIB with two 300hp Mercury Outboard engines, with a top speed of 55+knots, capable of taking more divers and reaching the far corners of the Northern Red Sea including Abu Nuhas and the wreck of the Rosalie Moller. Tornado has reached the SS Thistlegorm in just 52 minutes from leaving the Four Seasons close to the airport. That’s fast!

This popular service allows many of our diving guests the chance to make up to 3 dives per day and still spend plenty of time with their friends or family on land. Divers with non-diving partners often find this useful as a single dive often requires just a 2 hour absence from the hotel…plenty of time to enjoy the rest of the day in luxury. Of course, spending the day on a big dive boat with all the banter and adventure that goes with it is a well-established pastime in Sharm. We have two boats for this including our luxurious 26m flagship, Virginia, and the smaller but also beautifully styled, Sanafir Waiver boat.
